The Woman Behind the Madness

Cheryl Scheir is a freelance writer and editor living in Dover, DE. At this time, the main concentration of her work is in the development of training material for pharmaceutical sales representatives–which is neither as soul-sucking nor as shady as some people might lead you to believe. Her family humor column "Scheir Madness" appeared weekly in The Dover Post newspaper from May 2007 through February 2009. Her work has also appeared in Today’s Christian Woman magazine and in FORUM, the national newsletter for the parenting group Mothers & More.

Cheryl is happily married to her husband, Craig; they have two children, ages 11 and 13, and a fabulous miniature dachschund named Wesley. She is an avid tennis player, an amateur violist, an enthusiastic church-goer, a compulsive baker, and a reliable volunteer for whatever organizations she is affiliated with.

Hi Girl with the Fluid Pen. Just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your blog, especially your fascinating book reviews. I even cruised through some of your latest lines today before checking up on my usual list of news and commentary sources. As I have mentioned before, how you accomplish it in the whirl of your family, church and other services to the human race is beyond me! Not to compare for I fall far short of your output, but I have included in the URI section–not sure how that works–a website that my daughter has set up on the far-off Big Island for various stuff from the distant and sometimes more recent past: Best, Buck

      Hi Buck,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you–your message ended up in my SPAM folder for some reason.

I’m glad you’re liking the book reviews. I hadn’t heard any feedback on those, so I was hoping that someone was finding them enriching!

Thanks for the encouraging words! I’ve known for a long time that it’s important to have a stress reliever, and I guess this is it for me.

I’m looking forward to checking out your website–thanks for letting me know about it.

      Take care,

Hi there! I was perusing your blog (found it on the front page of WordPress!) and found your bio. Good stuff! After seeing you had an article in Today’s Christian Woman, I thought you might be interested in an upcoming writing conference called Write2Ignite.

    Write on! 🙂

Good to see your blog is expanding to friends of your kids. You’ll have to start writing to their tastes as well as adults!
